Spain: Aviva Investors acquires a plot in Palma to develop 331 'build to rent' (BTR) homes

The British fund Avivas Investment, Aviva's global asset management division, has closed the purchase with Layetana Living of a plot in Palma de Mallorca to develop its fourth promotion in Spain. The new project, located in the district of Nou Llevant, east of Palma, contemplates the construction of 331 homes with one, two and three bedrooms. With this acquisition, Aviva Investors has exceeded 720 homes financed in Spain. Internationally, the company also has a platform of 1,200 single-family homes in the United Kingdom.

UK: John Lewis submits plans for 215 BTR flats in Reading

John Lewis Partnership’s (JLP) £80 MLN plans for Build-to-Rent (BTR) homes in Reading have been submitted to the council. JLP plans to redevelop its former distribution warehouse off Mill Lane into 215 energy-efficient flats with 6,000 sq ft of amenity space which will include two gardens.

UK: IKB and Marick get greenlight for mix-use Bristol Temple Meads scheme

Full planning permission has been granted for a large construction project consisting of apartments, a hotel and an aparthotel. The site known as ‘Plot 3′ at Temple Quay on the Temple Meads side of the Cheesegrater Bridge is valued at £70 MLN. Designed by architects Sheppard Robson, the scheme includes the construction of three new buildings comprised of a 234-room hotel operated by Dalata Maldron, a 170-room extended stay aparthotel by Room2 and more than 100 build-to-rent (BTR) flats by the abrdn investments.

US: WinnDevelopment Begins Construction on $51 MLN Redevelopment of Historic Property for Senior Housing in Worcester

WinnCompanies announced that work has begun on the Residences on Lincoln Square, a $51 MLN project to transform the historic Worcester Boys Club building and property into 80 affordable apartment homes for adults 55 and older. The WinnDevelopment effort will employ adaptive reuse techniques to preserve and renovate the 94-year-old building as 16 apartment homes and a variety of community spaces, while erecting a new five-story apartment building alongside it to house 64 new apartments. The two buildings will be connected on the ground floor by a single-story glass walkway.
