UK, Glasgow: NEW Goods Yard Developer Proposes 1,800 Flats, Student Homes And Co-Living Units

The Galliard Apsley Partnership is in the process of seeking planning consent for a residential-led, mixed-use scheme on the 7.5-acre derelict site between Collegelands and Bell Street, beside Parsonage Square. The proposals are for around 560 build-to-rent (BTR) flats, about 1,000 student homes, and approximately 260 co-living units.

UK, London: Fusion and Cheyne Capital acquire second site in Brent Cross Town to deliver £275 million student accommodation development

Fusion Group, one of the largest privately-owned student accommodation developers and operators in the UK, and global alternative investment manager Cheyne Capital have jointly acquired a second site for purpose-built student accommodation (“PBSA”) in Brent Cross Town. Brent Cross Town is a 180-acre, £8 billion mixed-use town development in north London being delivered by Related Argent and Barnet Council which, when complete, will comprise 6,700 new homes.

US, Athens: LV Collective completes 600k-square-foot development near University of Georgia

LV Collective has completed Rambler Athens, a 600,000-square-foot student housing development located at 558 W. Broad St. near the University of Georgia campus in Athens. The community offers 750 beds across 342 units in studio through five-bedroom configurations.

Global: Far East Orchard H1 profit more than doubles to S$18.2 million on student housing segment growth

Spain: Aedas completes the purchase of Inmobiliaria Espacio for €50 million

Aedas Homes seals the purchase of Inmobiliaria Espacio. The developer, who had been behind the company for several months, has acquired the business from Grupo Villar Mir in an operation valued at €50 million, according to Cinco Días. With this purchase, Aedas will obtain new developer land, as well as the capacity to develop coliving projects and give a boost to affordable housing. Specifically, the operation gives the developer land for 1,400 homes.

UK: Plans lodged for new 'car free' residential development with 384 flats near Leeds city centre

A planning application has been submitted with the proposal to build a new multi-storey residential development with 385 build to rent homes, green spaces and commercial units off Armley Road in central Leeds. Designed by architects Wood Bagot, the proposed development would be a new urban community designed around “principles of sustainability and placemaking”.

Legal & General (L&G) has agreed to a £40 MLN deal with Vistry for 147 build-to-rent (BTR) homes in Coventry. The scheme is part of Vistry’s Keresley site, where the developer is delivering 550 family homes across two sites. L&G’s Suburban Build-to-Rent platform (LGSBTR) has acquired 147 homes on the site which will be used for private rent.

UK: JTP submits plans for Chelmsford town centre regeneration scheme

JTP has submitted plans for a major mixed-use regeneration scheme in the town centre of Chelmsford for developer Dominus. The “heritage-inspired” redevelopment of The Meadows shopping centre would include a new neighbourhood of 762 homes and 8,500sq m of retail, commercial and leisure space. The mostly car-free scheme would also contain new pedestrian and cycle routes and 1.7ha of public space, about the size of two and a half football pitches.
