UK, Southampton: Developer kicks off £20 million student accommodation scheme on Southampton high street

Winchester-based developer Stelling Properties is soon to begin a £20 million project bringing new student accommodation to central Southampton. The scheme will replace two outdated 1960s commercial buildings at 119 High Street with a series of studios and apartment clusters ranging from three to six storeys high.

Spain: Round Hill Capital buys 2 assets for rent in Parla from Neinor Homes for 30 MLN €

Round Hill Capital is interested in Madrid. The company specialized in real estate investment, promotion and management has acquired a portfolio of two residential assets for rent of recent development from Neinor Homes for about 30 MLN € in the south of Madrid, the firm assured in a statement on Monday. The first building has 94 residential homes for rent, each with its corresponding number of storage rooms and parking spaces, while the second building consists of 53 homes for rent, each with a storage room, and sixty parking spaces.

UK: More information on nearly 500 homes in Basildon Town Centre

New images and details have been revealed ahead of a “landmark” £113 MLN 492 rental homedevelopment in Basildon Town Centre.  Hoardings are up and demolition is well underway for the new homes at Market Square, replacing the former Moon on Square Wetherspoons pub reports the Local Democracy Reporter. The development is set to include one and two bedroom flats for rent, five outdoor terraces, a gym, and co-working areas.

Spain: Ashurst advises CaixaBank on €120 MLN BTR project

The financing, valued at €116.8 MLN, has been structured through SPVs ultimately owned by Nuveen and Kronos for the development of three BTR projects in Vilanova (Barcelona), Berrocales (Madrid), and Alcalá de Henares.

Germany: Hamburg - According to study, large shortage of senior housing

In it, the Hanover research institute predicts that Hamburg's housing market will be completely overwhelmed in the future. In ten years, the Hanseatic city will have around 46,000 more pensioners than today. Tens of thousands of age-appropriate apartments with approximately wide doors and showers without thresholds and with grab bars were already missing, according to the study. In 20 years, 83,000 senior households in Hamburg would need suitable apartments.

Japan: J-Sei Home closes after 30 Years, leaving Bay Area japanese seniors in need

For decades, Bay Area Japanese American families have sought culturally sensitive senior care facilities like J-Sei Home for aging loved ones. Community members said that about a decade ago, there were approximately 10 Japanese senior care homes in the region. Today, that number has declined by about half. The most recent closure came in January, when the last residents of J-Sei Home moved out, and the facility permanently closed its doors after 30 years of operation.

US: Shelton developer seeks to build 89 units of 55-and-older housing on Todd Road location

Shelton-based J&L Enterprise is seeking approval for a Planned Development District at 74 Todd Road, allowing for construction of a building with 89 units restricted to those 55 years and older. This proposed development comes two years after another housing project was submitted for this location but never came to fruition.
