From a number of globally ranked universities to a diverse population and rich cultural heritage, Spain’s capital and most populous city, Madrid, has much to offer, securing its place among Europe’s most popular study destinations. With over 33,000 students, about 15% international, there is still a substantial gap in Madrid between an ever-growing demand and the current supply of purpose-built student accommodation, with market saturation at 5.7%.

The development of student housing in Madrid over the next few years is expected to be shaped by both the expansion of the market’s leading players and the arrival of new international entrants, with a cumulative pipeline of approximately 3,100 new beds.

There is a growing appetite for PBSA development, as a number of foreign investors have recently announced their plans to establish new products in the city. Alongside insiders’ perspectives and views on future outlook, this session will provide strategic advice on how to navigate the market.

As part of BONARD’s mission to ensure student housing industry stakeholders target their investments with maximum precision, we began our popular new series of webinars with the city of Milan, and now we turn our focus to Madrid.

This initiative brings even more in-detail focus and in-field experience to the most-trending markets for investors and operators.

In the second of the city webinar series, we presented the latest PBSA data with local in-field intelligence and advice on one of Europe’s most sought-after markets.

In particular, we are grateful that representatives of leading student housing stakeholders in Spain joined us and shared their insights & experience.
