This year’s Property Week’s Student Accommodation Conference main topic was What is being done to reduce build operating costs? What does the student bedroom of tomorrow look like?

We had the opportunity to hear from true PBSA experts who shared their opinions on how to make something better in these turbulent times.

During the panel, our CEO, Samuel Vetrak shared that the quickest fix is technologies, big data production, and informing others how to reach more efficiencies while increasing wellbeing. He also shared an example of the most miss-match: what is missing compared to what is oversupplied in the market, as you can see in the pic below.

According to Nick J. King (amber energy), it is necessary to look at how you can engage with students and try to include them in the promotion of efficiency across the asset.

Tom White (Glide UK) sees the future in technology-driven buildings, using real data on how the building is actually used in order to improve efficiency and sustainability.

According to Michele Raftery (4240 Architecture), the no.1 issue that students face is the ability to sleep well, which highlights the need for optimization of the entire bedroom.
