The Class Awards 2020 celebrated companies, institutions and individuals “going the extra mile in making student living more efficient, welcoming and professional”, with awards in 11 categories this year, covering areas such brand, sustainability, leadership, developments, campus and digital innovation. The theme of the Class Conference 2019 was ‘The Future is Blended’ and StudyTravel Magazine has already reported on research released showing that an estimated €25 billion is expected to be invested in student housing and blended living in the next five years by organisations in attendance at the conference.
Elsewhere at the event, there was a focus on market outlooks in several European destinations. Samuel Vetrak, CEO of Bonard, gave an overview of international student mobility in higher education and the ‘super trends’ impacting on the student housing sector: increasing demand for amenities; student housing as an increasingly attractive asset class; and the growing combination of student housing and ‘micro-living’.
It was announced that next year the conference will return to its origins in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. See The Class of 2020 website for details of its research, activities and events.
